Indeed, sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ is among the greatest acts of love and loyalty a believer can offer.

In the sacred texts and blessed sayings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, countless virtues and blessings are associated with sending Durood (salutations) upon him. One such narration beautifully elaborates this:

> “من صلى علي حين يصبح عشرا، وحين يمسي عشرا، أدركته شفاعتي يوم القيامة.”
(Whoever sends Durood upon me ten times in the morning and ten times in the evening, my intercession will reach him on the Day of Judgment.)
— Hadith narrated by Tabarani

This Hadith reminds us how just a small, consistent action can lead to the immense reward of intercession by the Beloved Prophet ﷺ on the Day when no one can intercede except by Allah’s permission.

Why Durood is So Special

As explained in Fazail Durood Sharif, reciting Durood is not just an act of remembrance — it is a means of spiritual elevation. The Prophet ﷺ himself preferred Durood over simple praises or poetry. While eulogies and poems were also composed in his honor, the most beloved words were:

> اللهم صل وسلم على نبينا محمد
(O Allah! Send your peace and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ)

These words are not merely poetic — they carry divine approval and were beloved by the Prophet ﷺ more than any other praise.

The scholars have even stated that certain words like “تاجدار” or “لکی” and others that are found in common poetry may sometimes lack the respect, clarity, or precision that the formal Durood contains. That is why scholars like Allama Ibn Hajar and others advised avoiding flowery language that may inadvertently contain disrespect or theological ambiguity.

The Unique Style of Durood Sharif

Durood Sharif is not just a supplication — it is a gift from Allah to the Ummah. It connects our hearts with the Prophet ﷺ, beautifies our tongue, and draws Allah’s mercy upon us.

> “صلوا على الحبيب، صلى الله تعالى على محمد ﷺ”

This noble statement is often repeated in gatherings of dhikr and love for the Prophet ﷺ. It keeps the heart spiritually awake and the tongue moist with divine remembrance.

Practical Tip for Daily Life

Start and end your day with at least:

 100 times Durood in the morning

 100 times Durood in the evening

Even if you’re busy, this takes only a few moments and the reward is eternal.

Conclusion

The Prophet ﷺ is the best of creation — “خیر الخلق”. The more we send peace and blessings upon him, the more Allah showers mercy upon us. Let’s make this simple act a daily habit, especially in our homes, workplaces, and masajid.

>  “Ya Rab! Send Durood and Salaam always and forever upon Your Beloved, the best of all creation!” 
