Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
Tonight after Maghrib begins the blessed night of Jumu’ah, and tomorrow will be the day of Jumu’ah.
In many Ahadith, great emphasis has been placed on sending abundant salutations (Durood Sharif) upon the Prophet ﷺ on this day and its preceding night.
Mufti Abdul Ra’oof Sahib (may Allah preserve him) mentions in his discourses a beautiful Hadith:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Send abundant salutations upon me on the night and day of Jumu’ah.”
And in another narration:
“Whoever sends one thousand salutations upon me in a day, he will not die until he sees his abode in Paradise with his own eyes.”
SubhanAllah! Allahu Akbar! What a great virtue!
A person is shown his place in Jannah before his passing.
Recommended Levels of Reciting Durood on Friday:
- Minimum: 1,000 times
- Moderate: 2,000 times
- Excellent: 3,000 times
Our pious predecessors had the practice of reciting 3,000 times on Fridays.
If one cannot manage that, then at least 1,000 times should be read.
